On the Feedback to the Writing Methods of This Blog - Koèju Åsmund Skuterud Case

Some valuable feedback about the research/analysis methods of this blog have been arrived from one of our readers. Although our posts are casual writings taking an article format, I decided to share some parts of our email conversation to clear up my readers' doubts.

Q: "I really appreciate you sharing something so private with me. I feel like I saw another side of you, vulnerable and a real human being, more than just the blog posts I saw online. Maybe you need to show this side to your other readers too. Not the private stories, just something more about how the experiences made you feel and the realization of him acting like he cared and wanted to be friends was just an act of trying to maintain a casual sexual relationship." (Mar 23, 2017)

"Sorry about the misunderstanding. I do think you are offering a lot of private information already. I guess what I meant was for you to share with us more about how the events made you feel." (Mar 30, 2017)

A: What you said is related to the method I chose to describe, that is "complete participant observation", Normally it should describe how the researcher felt in the interaction with the subject also, like you said.

However, this method has an inherent limitation of qualitative investigation, to get objectivity. Also, I've already received some typical criticism of the narcissist's flying monkeys such as "This is just one-side story. There is another side of the story always.", even though I've not gotten any data from "the other side" yet.

Since the purpose of this blog is to let the people know the information and hopefully convince them to escape from the narcissistic relationship, not to get a methodological accuracy, I doubt if describing more the researcher's perspective would help to achieve our goal.

Q: "In addition to the objectivity and to be more convincing, maybe it's better if you separate the extra data obtained from your eight interviews individually, instead of mixing them together? And the order is a little bit off, according to the timeline. Maybe you can fix it up and organize it in chronological order so it's easier to understand?" (Mar 30, 2017)

A: There is a limitation to write the collected interview data because of the interviewees' privacy. That's why I chose to add them on the original narrative analysis. As a member checking of the collected data in the participant observation, it would be great if I could write them chronologically and specifically, to get more objectivity in academical perspective. But the interviewees wanted to keep their identity in secret. So, the most important thing for me is keeping the promise even though I'm using ambiguous descriptive words on the post.

There is a dilemma as always. I was also considering changing the organizing method because this article format is not easy to understand. I am fully aware that it is not completely organized yet. I will reorganize the posts soon when I have time to do it.

P.S. Also, one of my friends, who is in European History field, strongly criticized about the used lying detection theory for the analysis because it has a functionalist perspective and also took a skeptical stance toward the psychoanalytic approach. I value his view, however, the principal method of our post is a complete participant observation, that is a constructivist data collection method, and the post-observation with the obtained data from the interviews as a casual way of cross-checking provides the extra support for the original writing and helps to reduce the intervention caused by the researcher's perception during the analysis.

April 2017

P.S.2. I received another criticism from the same friend that points out "the objectivity" of the observation, since the researcher failed to have a proper emotional distance from the subject in the original observational period and chose the method of interviewing the people involved without direct observation on the subject's reaction in the post-observational period due to losing the rapport with him. However, we can't deny the selected strategy was effective to collect the information to increase the level of objectivity and helped to achieve our goal at a certain level.

Another Message to Prove Åsmund Skuterud(Koèju)'s Risky and Irresponsible Behavior

On March 14, one of our brave Taiwanese readers, who was dating with Simon Matthew Valentine (aka Simon Matthew Jones-tyridal), sent us another message to support this blog.

The last part of her message is meaningful for us. The topic that we are talking about in this Åsmund Skuterud (Koèju) case is not only the problem of female body people, but also of all the people in the world to build the trustworthy relationship and society.

Everyone has a right to know the information to make their choice. But in this case, Åsmund Skuterud (Koèju) hided all the information, only to get what he wants, and put his sexual partners at STD/STI/cancerous risk. This is completely against the equality and he should give an apology to all the victims.

We really appreciate this great support for our blog.

We were planning to deactivate our Instagram account on March 31 but we decided to postpone the closing date since It is discovered that there are more victims by Åsmund Skuterud (Koèju).

Another Support from Our Reader - Koèju Åsmund Skuterud Case

A person who was involved with Åsmund Skuterud(Koèju) contacted me three times on January 24, February 7 and 9, 2017. She gave the information that Åsmund Skuterud (Koèju) sent a message in November, 2016 to ask if one of his friends had contacted her and said that the friend(referring to the author of this blog) was spreading a rumor because of depression.
(*The thing we need to remember is that what he has done doesn't be changed depending on the psychological status of the victim.)

Also the person confirmed that he said he got checked up when she was seeing him(*but it was false).

Feb 9 2017

Summary:

In January and February 2017, several people who were involved with this guy Åsmund Skuterud contacted us. In February 2017, the author went to meet one of his teenager victims in person. All conversation was legally recorded.

2. Facts about high-risk HPV(Human Papiloma Virus)

HPV is transmitted through sexual contacts including vaginal, anal, oral sex (but not necessarily sexual intercourse). It is not protected by condoms since touching the skin of an HPV infected person can transmit the virus. Once you are exposed (having contact with the infected person), the virus likely stays in your body either as an active infection or lays dormant for weeks or even for years. If you had any sexual contact with the infected person, it is recommended to get a regular medical check-up (Pap Smear Test) every 6 months.

There is no treatment that can get rid of the HPV virus. According to the related studies, more than 90% of new HPV infections clear by the immune system or become undetectable, within two years after infection.

Many people infected with high-risk HPV usually don't present any sign. And there is no official way for men to screen HPV, excluding biopsy. "If an infection does not clear however it can progress to disease. Though they are benign and not associated with mortality, they are a source of psychosocial distress (Jeynes et al., 2009) and can cause physical discomfort including pain, bleeding and itching (Wiley et al., 2002)."[1] Also "virtually all cervical cancer cases (99%) are linked to genital infection with HPV which is the most common viral infection of the reproductive tract"[2]. High-risk HPV(Oncogenic HPV) types can cause intraepithelial neoplasia of the anogenital region (cervical, vulvar, vaginal, penile and anal) or of the oropharyngeal region. Persistent infection with high-risk HPV is the most important risk factor for cervical cancer precursors and invasive cervical cancer.

How to reduce the risk:

1. "Use latex condoms the right way every time you have sex. This can lower your chances of getting HPV. But HPV can infect areas that are not covered by a condom"[3]

2. "Be in a mutually monogamous relationship – or have sex only with someone who only has sex with you."[3]

Conversation with a Person Who Was in Åsmund Skuterud(Koèju, Jazz in Khartoum)'s Party

This post is to clarify the improper reaction from Åsmund Skuterud's party. I decided to share the conversation with the person since it can show clearly why the person is related to Åsmund Skuterud and it is nothing to do with the person's privacy.

The conversation with the individual who is related with Åsmund Skuterud can be divided into three parts.

Part 1: The conversation on November 26, 2016. The interviewer could get basic information about the individual and also provided some parts of evidence that can support the writings in this blog. Based on Truth-Default Theory (Levine, 2014), the interviewer basically assumed that the individual tells truth and focused on the contextual content, until this moment.

[Basic Data of the interviewee from the part 1]: Vietnamese, Female, She met Åsmund Skuterud "twice" in Oslo, Norway and Bangkok, Thailand.

Part 2: The conversation on November 27, 2016. The interviewee showed a radical change in her attitude and also mentioned the information that cannot be found in our conversation nor in this blog. This implies clearly an intervention of Åsmund Skuterud(Koèju). Also the series of trigger events in the same conversation leaded the interviewer to the abandonment of TD(Truth Default) state.

The owner of this blog published about the conversation and replied to the individual,
"Hello, you mentioned the things I didn't tell you in our conversation. That's why I think that you are his party. And the two updated information is taken because of the same reason. Best regards."

Part 3: The individual tried to excuse herself during the period December 1-5, 2016, focusing on unimportant details. The person sent 33 messages for 4 days(December 1 and 3-5)

On December 4 (Sun), the person blocked our Facebook page not to receive any reply.

1. Contextual Analysis

According to the information that the interviewee provided in our conversation, the individual is a Vietnamese girl who met  Åsmund Skuterud(Koèju) twice. However, some trigger events to abandon the TD state are observed considering her basic personal information.

List of the trigger events:
(1) Asking too much information that is not directly related to the person
(2) Manipulative speech, Repetition and Emphasis (*ex. the classical statement of the narcissist's flying monkey "there are two sides of the story." without showing any evidence.)
(3) Mentioning the not given information (*The interviewer didn't mention that the person who contacted was a musician and she was not.)
(4) Radical change in her attitude with "the silent treatment"
(5) Unnecessary long excuse

2. Linguistic Analysis (Minor part)

(1) "Non-contracted denial" is one of classical hot spots in lie detection, like in the Bill Clinton's Lewinsky scandal (Solomon & Theiss, 2012). The individual used it 7 times:
"I did not angry coz we were just friend", "I am not", "I am not  Åsmund negotiator", "sorry , I did not sleep with him", "I did not even know who cello girl was.", "I don't know and do not give any care about what happened between you and  Åsmund." and "We had never had any dates.".

(2) "Illeism" can be considered to distance herself from the situation. In part 2, the individual said, "You don't believe her but use information from her for evidence."

3. Circumstantial Evidence

(1) Being prepared before contacting our Facebook page
(2) Contacting time and Simultaneous access with Åsmund Skuterud (Koèju)
(3) Reactions of Asmund Skuterud and his coworker Simon Matthew Valentine:
 - Hiding all the information he had on Facebook temporarily, deleting the Koeju Instagram and the posts on his private Instagram account (@asmundskuterud)
 - Putting his relationship status as "single" on Facebook (Simon Matthew Valentine)
(4) The individual agreed with the interpretation on the post in Google Plus in April 2017 (Later, she withdrew her 'like' not expose to her identity):
